The chart shown below lets you see at a glance when each type of bulb is at its peak. For a continuous parade of color, simply plant some bulbs from each time period.

Wondering about the best time to purchase and plant these bulbs? As a general rule, bulbs that bloom in early, mid and late spring are available in the fall and should be planted between September and November. Bulbs that bloom from early through late summer are available in the spring and should be planted after danger of frost has passed. Autumn crocus and colchicum are planted in late summer.
