I had ordered only one set of these in 2022, because I wasn't sure exactly what the color would be. I wanted a shade of pink, but the product photos looked very red, and some reviewers had described them as more of a muddy, muted red. This was my first time ever ordering from Longfield Gardens. There was some confusion with my order, which required several phone calls, and, I think because of the confusion, I never received any email saying my product had shipped. As a result, my package was delivered without my knowing it. Of course instead of leaving the box in the dry and protected area of my front porch, the FedEx driver left it sitting out in the pouring rain. It rained heavily for an entire 3 days before, in checking the website, I discovered that my bulbs were sitting outside. The package was so soaked that the box fell apart when I attempted to pick it up and while all the bulbs had gotten wet, these Corvara were soaked to the point of being mushy. Of the 5 Corvara bulbs, only two were salvageable. Between the initial problem with the website and a duplicate order, and then the soggy bulbs, I was off to a very bad start with Longfield Gardens. Still, the bulbs that were sent did appear to be good quality bulbs, that had experienced poor delivery. My order consisted of a lot of Liatris bulbs, I think I ordered 8 sets, one set of 5 Corvara bulbs, and one set of 5 Casablanca Lilies. At check out, I received the 5 Casablanca bulbs for free as a bonus. Since I had planned on purchasing those anyway, I didn't feel it was necessary to call to complain about the soggy Corvara bulbs or to ask for a refund. Still, I was disappointed. Anyway, I planted the two salvageable Corvara Lily bulbs. Because they weren't firm, I suspected I was wasting my time with them. A couple months later, some scraggly plants emerged but they were very short and never got flowers. I thought for sure this was their first and last gasp of life. Cut to this year, 2023, and I was pleasantly surprised to see them re-emerge. They seemed to be doing much better than in the first year, and I had high hopes they might actually bloom. Truly, I just wanted to see what color they were to know if they'd be worth ordering again in the future. Well, I went outside today to find these positively dazzling, raspberry pink blooms!! They are a gorgeous deep rosey pink with a contrasting white edge and they are stunning!!! Of the 2 bulbs I planted, one has three big flowers on its stalk, and the other has 5, some of which are still waiting to open. You can see them pictured along with other bulbs that came in the same order. All were planted last year. Pictured are Purple Liatris Spicata, White Casa Blanca Lilies, and these absolutely beautiful Pink Corvara Lilies. I was right in thinking I had been sent quality bulbs, and despite all the issues, I would absolutely order again from Longfield Gardens. In fact, I will definitely be ordering a ton more of these Pink Corvara bulbs. Combined with the White Casa Blanca Lilies, these Corvara Lilies give my yard a light but heavenly fragrance. And the color is to die for!
