Pretty bad.

Only a couple corms sprouted and the leaves stayed small and weak. When I planted the the corms, about five were particially rotted. Decided to plant them all anyway. No flowers bloomed. I called customer service in early July because I knew there was a problem and my account was quickly credited.

Thank you for leaving a review. Thrips are a known pest for gladiolus and difficult to see. They are sucking insects that can cause discoloration and distortion of both leaves and blossoms. Left unchecked, they will weaken the entire plant. Although this doesn't explain what happened, we hope you will give us another try.

No good.

Not a single bulb came up. I knew it was bad when I planted. Most of the bulbs were either shriveled or squishy. I have never had such a terrible bulb problem.

Not sure what went wrong with these flowers. I was so disappointed. I am sending pictures. They came up quickly but the flower buds turned brown and they never bloomed.

Thanks for the honest review. Gladiolus don't have many pest issues, but they are vulnerable to thrips. These are tiny sucking insects that are barely visible to the naked eye. They draw out the plant's juices, leaving the foliage and flowers looking desiccated (dried up and sometimes browned). Thrips are able to overwinter on plant debris, so it's important to remove and destroy all the affected foliage and flowers. Thrips can overwinter on the corms both in the ground and in storage. If you want to save the corms for next year, clean off the soil and then soak them for 3 hours in a bleach solution (4 teaspoons bleach per gallon of water). Let them dry thoroughly before storing for the winter.
