Tulip Darwin Hybrid Apricot Delight

I planted a group of Darwin Hybrid Apricot Delight and Darwin Hybrid Salmon Impression in a circle around a birdbath and they all bloomed beautifully! These two varieties are very similar in color to each other. This was my first time planting Darwin hybrid tulips, so I am looking forward to seeing if they come back again next year!

This tulip is pure perfection. From its strong and wonderfully long stems to the gorgeous pink-apricot color. The leaves are even beautiful and interesting. Loved bringing this tulip indoors to add height to my arrangements.

The Apricot Delight tulips were the first to bloom. They had a beautiful shape and stood up to the wind. I live along the coast so the wind is a constant factor.

Apricot Delight turned out exactly as described in Longfield Garden’s entry. The first and most noticable characteristic was the purple mottled leaves, which in my garden showed just for the first leaves to open at the bottom, on the inner side. These bloomed mid-season for me. I found them to look very much like the Apricona tulips also bought from Longfield Gardens which (for me, preferably) bloomed with regular leaves a little later.
