I absolutely love the powder blue color of this beautiful and unique muscari! The bulbs from Longfield Gardens were in excellent health and all came up (this will be my second spring with them in my garden).
However, I wanted to leave a review for other gardeners warning that (at least in my central PA garden) these are very sadly not rabbit-resistant! I bought them specifically because I'd read about muscari being rabbit-resistant. I would not have planted them had I known that they weren't.
My pesky resident rabbits love to eat the grassy foliage all year round (not the flower stalks though), which makes for a sad and messy appearance. They're all chewed to the ground and can't grow since they're constantly getting eaten. I have the common blue muscari armeniacum as well and the rabbits seem to prefer the Valerie Finnis as they go for it first. Naturally, my favorite muscari appears to be theirs as well. :(
I'm going to try transplanting them into my woods in the hope that the rabbits won't wander there to snack on them.
I would totally recommend these for growing in containers or for a garden area that's off-limits to hungry rabbits.
