    Fabulous Hot summer color

Posted by John Scott on Feb 22nd 2022

I have planted many caladiums over the many years! These are the top of the heap in my book. We get really hot summers and the hotter it got the better the Florida Cardinal di in my yard in both full shade and partial sun. I have already ordered more for this year! Everyone who came to the house commented on these wonderful caladiums!

The Caladium bulbs that I bought started out sort of slow, maybe due to the cold spring but once they got started they really took off. I am finding it hard to believe how big and full they got, and they're still growing. Truly outstanding!

This was the first time I've ever grown caladium...and what a beautiful addition to my garden they turned out to be. Big leaves, beautiful, eye-catching colors, they really became a focal point for my garden. They did take a while longer to come up then I expected, but were well worth the wait. Next year I'll try starting them indoors and then planting them when it gets warm. We've had a hot, humid summer and they have looked wonderful throughout. I will definitely reorder for 2020.
