Dahlia Ball Sandra

Purchased as a namesake to honor a friend who towers in height and is exceptionally giving, this plant matched her personality. Grown in 5b, it survived a new fence installation, grew just under 6ft and continued blooming until October before I had to prepare the tuber for dormancy. She’s cheerfully pink.

The front of my garden - so many people stopped by to ask what the name of it was - this will be a staple for me for years to come.

One of the first of my dahlias to bloom. The tubers weren't that impressive, but once in the ground they thrived! The flowers are perfect...but stems are somewhat weak. Great for bouquets!

very prolific, strong plants , don't need staking

I had nearly given up on expecting buds on these tubers, but they finally showed up in October (after planting in early June). I'm in zone 4b and hope to still have a couple weeks of blooms left before frost.

Sandra started blooming in late June and is still going strong as of Oct. 2nd.

I received one of these in a collection I purchased and it really stood out. Strong, long vase life, able to pick at a variety of stages. Attractive honeycomb look to this ball.
