Pantone’s 2020 color of the year is Classic Blue. In the horticultural world, true blue is hard to find, so gardeners can't do much with this year's color. But Pantone also publishes a Fashion Color Trends Report. These are the colors fashion designers are expected to feature in their spring and summer 2020 collections.
Trending colors in the fashion world may have little to no impact on the flowers you choose for your garden. That's true for me as well. But they can be a source of inspiration for new colors and color pairings.
This year’s fashion trend report, features lots of warm, sunny hues: saffron, orange peel, coral pink, cinnamon stick, scarlet and sunlight. As you begin planning your 2020 garden, consider incorporating some of these on-trend colors. Pushing your color boundaries is fun and along the way, you may discover some new favorites.
